Involvement
Delta Sigma Pi
International Business Fraternity
Delta Sigma Pi is a co-ed professional business fraternity committed to developing principled business leaders for the future. I joined the Beta Upsilon Chapter during my first semester at Texas Tech and remained an active member throughout all four years of my undergraduate career. Through DSP, I had the opportunity to grow professionally and personally while taking on several leadership roles that strengthened my skills in project management, communication, and collaboration.
Senior Vice President
As Senior Vice President, I served in an executive capacity, directly communicating with our national office and ensuring our chapter remained in compliance with national standards. I was responsible for planning, organizing, and executing recruitment efforts for each semester that I served. This was a fast-paced, four-week process where timing, creativity, and coordination were key. To improve recruitment outcomes, I worked ahead of the semester to collaborate with our Public Relations officer, pre-scheduling promotions and events. This proactive approach significantly increased attendance and engagement, resulting in one of our most successful recruitment seasons.
Fundraising Chair
As Fundraising Chair, I designed and executed creative, team-based fundraising events that brought members together and raised funds for chapter operations. One initiative was a semester-long aluminum can competition, where chapter members competed in teams to collect cans, which I later recycled for cash donations. I also organized a “Thrift-a-Thon” event, where members donated clothing, and we transformed a central campus space into a pop-up store, complete with racks, bins, and volunteers. Students could purchase a reusable bag for a flat rate and fill it with as many items as they wanted. The event was not only a financial success but also a fun and engaging way to promote sustainability and campus involvement.
Pledge Educator
As Pledge Educator, another executive board position, I was responsible for overseeing the education and onboarding of new members into the fraternity. I guided the Fall 2022 pledge class through their learning period, ensuring they understood our values, traditions, and expectations. I worked closely with chapter leadership and the central office to maintain program alignment with national guidelines and to foster a supportive, inclusive environment for new members transitioning into active roles.
Abigail E. Keller Foundation
Summer Volunteer Intern
The Abigail E. Keller Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting medically fragile and terminally ill children and their families. Their work includes delivering care baskets, birthday boxes, and financial assistance, while also leading the development of Abbey House: the first pediatric respite and hospice care facility in Texas.
In Summer 2023, I worked closely with the Board to help plan and execute the foundation’s largest annual fundraising event. My primary responsibilities included designing displays for auction items, coordinating with donors and board members to ensure smooth transitions of donated goods, and supporting event decor planning.
Contributing to such a meaningful cause through creativity, organization, and hands-on collaboration was incredibly fulfilling. Now that I’m back in Austin post-graduation, I plan to continue donating my time to support this mission that is so close to my heart
