Work Experience

Lubbock Power & Light

Administrative Intern

During my time at LP&L, I supported the launch of the utility’s multi-year warehouse transition plan. My role focused on laying the groundwork: consolidating inventory across substations, improving asset tracking, and eliminate non-moving stock.

Working directly under the Electrical Inventory & Contracts Coordinator, I also coordinated with the Purchasing Manager, Warehouse Manager, and supervisors from key service departments – including Overhead, Underground, and Streetlight divisions – to modernize inventory practices. This included recalculating reorder points (ROP), optimizing economic order quantities (EOQ), flagging obsolete or stagnant stock, and updating master records to support cleaner, more reliable data.

As the first administrative intern ever brought into the engineering department, I had the unique opportunity to help define the position itself. I collaborated with department leadership to create a framework that aligned with LP&L’s operational needs and would set future interns up for success.
Wanting to gain a broader understanding of procurement, I developed an Excel-based Purchasing Process Tracker. It is a dynamic tool designed to streamline requisition workflows, track quote and PO status, and maintain a searchable audit trail of completed purchases.

My time at LP&L gave me hands-on experience in supply chain strategy, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration within a public utility setting. It has hands down been the most impactful, growth-filling experience of my undergraduate career.

Four Star Demos

Demo Sales Specialist

As an independent contractor, I conducted in-store product demonstrations for various food and beverage brands across Lubbock. I handled everything from setup to reporting, offering samples, engaging shoppers, and promoting sales – all while following strict food safety protocols. I also tracked inventory, pricing, and sales data to ensure accurate post-demo reporting and vendor compliance.
