Study Abroad

Summer 2023, I spent a month studying abroad at the University of Southeast Norway in Honefoss, where I completed two courses in International Management and International Marketing. The management course was taught by a Norwegian professor from USN while the marketing course was taught by an American professor from Texas Tech. The program featured integrated classrooms of U.S. and Norwegian students, creating a unique and collaborative environment that made cultural exchange part of the daily routine.

In our management course, we were groups into diverse teams (two American and two Norwegian students per team) to conduct strategic country analyses, identifying how cultural differences influence international business operations. This hands-on project required us to navigate distinct communication styles, decision-making approaches, and work expectations and offered a real-world lesion in cross-cultural collaboration.

On weekends, I independently explored Scandinavia, visiting Oslo (twice!), Copenhagen, and Stockholm during Midsommer! My time abroad not only deepened my understanding of global business practices but also sparked a lasting passion for travel and cultural connection.
